Time is a funny thing...

It seems so hard to believe that my Dad passed away seven years ago.  Sometimes it seems like just yesterday, sometimes it seems like a lifetime ago.  Very strange how you make a "new normal" that doesn't include someone you've known your entire life.  People are born, people die and the earth keeps turning, days keeping passing and new memories are made.  I miss a lot of things about him but mostly his great sense of humor - wish I had gotten some that!   The Lord blessed our family with a good father and I'm very thankful for the time we had with him.

Mardi Gras 2018!

This past weekend, our friends from Dallas came over for the Krewe of Centaur Mardi Gras parade.  We met at Superior Grill for lunch and then on to downtown Shreveport to secure our hotel rooms and watch the parade.  It was a wild Saturday, as usual, when food, friends and the party attitude come together as they so often do when this bunch gets together!  We did Mardi Gras right this year and danced into Sunday...already looking forward to St. Paddy's Day when we'll all get together again!

Sharon, Kathy, Daniel, Noreen, Beth, Kathy, Charlie, Lisa, Curt, Dawn, Doug, Elaine, Kenneth, Natalia and Maya starting the party at Superior Grill

The waiters all singing "Happy Birthday" to Sharon!

We had a view of the parade start from our hotel room

Setting up and waiting for the parade to start.  It was really cold this year!

These two have been besties for a few years now. And they were NOT dressed for the cold!

Dawn and Kenneth :)

The LA Tech band (this poor Patriots fan didn't know the Eagles were going to KICK BUTT the next day-hahaha!)

Love watching all the throws coming off of both sides of all the floats as they come down the street.

Not only was it cold, but it was raining a bit.  Jeff took good care of his stepdad - such a good guy!

Kelly and Jeff at dinner that night-sweet couple, for sure!

This picture sums it all up for Mardi Gras 2018 - so much fun!
