Shelby's "Day with Auntie"!!

On Saturday, March 10th, Shelby used her Christmas "A Day with Aunt Elaine" coupon to go to WinterJam 2018.  WinterJam is Christian music's largest annual tour and it was jam-packed with music and entertainment.  I picked her up around 2:00 and we headed out to eat.  We were headed to her choice of Logan's Roadhouse, but passed the newly opened Taco Bueno and she said she'd rather eat there soooo...since I'm SO used to pulling U-turns it was easy enough for me to do that and we had Mexican instead of steaks.  On to Starbucks for some after lunch refreshments and then to the CenturyLink Center.  I had gotten us JamNation memberships and thought that would get us right on in but it turns out about 2,500 others had the same idea so we had to wait in line about 45 minutes.  It turned out great though because we chatted and made some new friends in line.  Once inside, we picked out some great seats and had a wonderful view of the entire show.  There was a speaker (Nick Hall), a comedian (John Crist) and a great lineup of music - Mallory Hope, Westover, Nick Bremnes, Jordan Feliz, KB, NewSong, Building 429, Kari Jobe and Skillet.  I LOVE me some bass and it was so loud the seats were shaking - it was awesome!!  Shelby thoroughly enjoyed herself and took in every second of the show.  She had a friend invite her to church a little over a year ago and I'm so thankful she's been attending twice a week.  She's such a beautiful soul with a sweet, shy smile and a love for music.  I'm so happy to have gotten to spend some time with her and get to know her better.  We didn't get home until 11:30 and I think she went straight to bed - late night for a little lady...:)  Looking forward to spending more time with her in the future.  Love you, Shelby!!

Amanda Jayne took our picture before we left the house.

She was really happy with her choice for dinner.

The food wasn't too bad for fast food, either...

Waiting in line

The line behind us!!

Found our seats, now waiting for the show to start.

No longer are lighter lit at concerts.  Now it's cellphone flashlights!!

On this first day of spring 36 years ago...

...we were just a young couple on our wedding day starting our life together.  What a wonderful ride it has been!  Looking forward to how ever many years the good Lord will grant us.  We still have a few more adventures planned!

SO young!!

Took pics of the pictures on my wall so not very good quality, but our wedding day was awesome!!

I was surprised this morning with a delivery at work!

Nana's birthday!!

Rita was 80 on her birthday this year so the brothers decided to surprise her.  Timothy and Sandy were at the house Saturday, March 3rd and she had no idea they were coming into town.  She just thought she was coming to a fish fry at our house and ended up with a houseful of her family to celebrate her birthday!  It was a wonderful day of beautiful weather, good food and family fun.  On Sunday, Kenneth, Timothy, Sandy and I sat around and visited over coffee for a couple of hours then headed to Rita's to put up a new antenna so she gets more TV channels.  After lunch at Copeland's, they headed back to Texas and we spent the afternoon relaxing.  What a great weekend it was.

Happy Birthday, Nana!!!  We love you...:)

What a surprise for her to have her "baby" wishing her a happy birthday!

She just hollered and cried when she saw them!

February happenings

February just slipped on by me and I never got around to posting much, so here's what else happened...

My trainer at Anytime Fitness organized a dinner with the girls that workout together.  It was fun to get together and share a meal instead of sweating together!  Ty, Devin, Danielle and Bryne at Trejo's Restaurant.

Karen, Becky and Ty.  Didn't get any pics of my side of the table!

Got a dartboard for the back porch...I can see lots of matches happening out here this summer!

Kenneth and I went to Copeland's Restaurant on one of our outings.  This crawfish bread was delicious!!

And the his etouffee and my eggplant were even better!!

Friday night relaxing on the back porch with the cats.  Found out we need a light over the dartboard!

It's fun to have cats around again.  They love getting their treats!

Got a call from Arvis and Patty to come over for a crawfish boil.  He did a great job and we all had our fill with some left over!

New friends Joyce and Terry

Now THIS is springtime in Louisiana!!!

Valentine's Dinner...after Valentine's Day!

I think that holidays are the worst days possible to try to eat out so Kenneth and I went out the day after to avoid the crowds.  And we were about the only one's in Saltgrass Steakhouse on The Boardwalk that evening!!  Had a wonderful meal, strolled the Boardwalk along the Red River and went to Bass Pro Shop...a great way to spend the evening with my Valentine, no matter the day!
