Wedding festivities

On Saturday, August 20th, Kenneth, Katie and I headed to Montgomery, TX for Meredith and Matt's wedding.  The bride was stunning, the venue perfect, the ceremony was sweet and the reception was so much fun!  We saw some beautiful country, met some new people, saw old friends and had a wonderful time.  So happy to be a part of their big day and the fun celebration!

On Friday, August 19th, we headed to Beltone to have Mum's hearing tested and were hoping to get her some hearing aids.  She had a set but they were old, the technology was old (she couldn't even adjust the volume) and she just didn't wear them.  Well, she got a set of snazzy new hearing aids and she even wears them now!  We all have to re-learn how to communicate...we have to quit hollering at her!  I said something to her at her apartment last night and almost blew her out of her chair. Not really, but she was cringing because I was talking pretty loud - habit.  I'll get used to speaking to her in a normal tone of voice soon.  Mum probably hopes it's REAL soon!

Football season is here!

As much as I love baseball, I'm always ready for football season...especially late August when I can watch the Rangers and the Steelers play on the same day!  Look what my friend, Dawn, got for me - a wooden Steelers football to add to my work décor!  Thanks, Dawn! 

Sunday, August 14th and recap...

Well we headed for home in rainy, dreary weather but with sunny memories!

Saturday, August 13th

We left Bubba and Rita's early Saturday morning headed back to Curt and Lisa's.  We have a long day ahead of us, that's for sure!

We stopped in Amarillo, Texas at the Big Texan Steakhouse. Just noticed the guy in the blue shirt looks like my brother, but it's not!

This filet was SO good!! Not sure why my picture turned on me...

He's done...couldn't eat it all...

This is what all you have to eat to get the 72 oz. steak free...the dang roast, roll, baked potato, salad and three fried shrimp.

Another benefit of traveling in an RV - you get to watch the Texas Rangers play baseball!!
