Here is one happy guy...

Kenneth got a new truck!  We traded two trucks in and got one truck that will be able to handle the bigger toyhauler we plan to get soon.  It was hard to say goodbye to our Tundra - we've had it eleven years and it's been a great truck.  It still was a very good truck and whoever gets it will get many more good years out of it, but we needed more pulling power and this truck will do it!  So happy to be able to get this!

September happenings...

September was pretty hot, but we got several early morning motorcycle rides in to some places I had never been.  We had our usual busy days with work, moms, doctor appointments, etc. but also had some nice, relaxing down time and really enjoyed life...:)

Kenneth in the blue shirt shopping at one of his favorite places - Harbour Freight!

One of our rides in early September - the cotton is almost ready!

Beautiful back road riding - love, love, love it!!!

One of our favorite stops.  He gets a big glass of ice water and I get a big glass of draft beer!

One of our rides along the Red River.

Cotton field in late September.  There were acres and acres of cotton - it's so beautiful when it's all in bloom!

Kenneth said they were going to tear this old silo down but decided to save it.  Very few of these cement silos with cable tie supports left.  I'd never seen one.  One of our water stops.

We rode along the roads around Chimp Haven but it wasn't open.  While we were sitting by the silo, we could hear them hollering, though...I felt like I was in the jungle!!

Eureka Springs Antique Auto Festival

On September 6th, we went to Marshall to pick up Peggy and Bob and headed north to Arkansas.  Our first stop was Iron Mountain Marina where we spent the afternoon/evening with Carl and Sandy.  They fixed us a wonderful lunch and we had snacks and leftovers for dinner in the beautiful two bedroom cabin on Lake DeGray that they had set up for us.  We had so much fun visiting with them, some of their co-workers and Jake, Jessie and Hayden who up for dinner and some more family fun.  Friday morning we left Iron Mountain for Eureka Springs.  Bob and Peggy's T-Bird club get discounted hotel rooms and a hospitality suite at the hotel right on the parade route so we had a nice king room to spread out in, a big room with snacks, TV and lots of chairs and tables to hang out in with the other car folks and watch college football and Mecum Auctions and drink beer and then had prime lawn chair spots for the car parade Saturday.  It was a fun weekend filled with cars (the bad weather scared a lot of folks from coming but there were still cars to see), great food, local craft beers, shopping, car watching and visiting with lots of great people.  So happy we get to spend time with family and friends...:)

Sandy and Carl - they fixed a wonderful lunch!!  This is the kitchen at their shop.

View of Lake DeGray from our cabin - the lake was down 12-15 feet below normal

Headed down for some margaritas!

The shop had beer on tap and a margarita machine.  The tray is filled with already poured drinks!

Sandy and Carl in the cabin.  We had leftovers from lunch here for dinner.

Married 62 years and they still love each other so much!

They're a lot of fun to hang out with...:)  This is at Sparky's in Eureka Springs for dinner Saturday afternoon.

I had a local brew and seared ahi tuna for lunch - it was all delicious!!

This is the beer I had.

Waiting for the car parade.

This spot on the hill at the hotel has the best viewing for the parade!

This little girl was SO full of joy!!  I spoke to her at the Mexican restaurant where we had dinner Friday night and every time I saw her afterwards, she ran up to me and gave me a big hug!  Such a sweet little soul...:)
