Dinners with Mum

Usually dinners with Mum look like this...

We go out to eat somewhere, usually with Katie, but not anymore. Daniel met us at Newk's last week, though and we had dinner with him.

But sometimes she cooks for us and we eat at her place!
These spare ribs were SO good - really tender and just fell off the bone.

Haley was a bit put out with me that I wouldn't share with her.

Ginny Granger Spitale Memorial Poker Run

We set out on Saturday, November 19th on a poker run in memory of a woman who died of breast cancer.  All of the proceeds went to benefit Woody's Home, an organization that helps homeless veterans.  The Lord blessed us with a beautiful day!  It was in the mid 40s when we headed out so we had to bundle up, but the sun was shining so we sure didn't mind.  We didn't get good cards for the poker run but were happy to donate to such a good cause.  The ride to the card stops was beautiful - around Cross Lake and through some gorgeous fall colors then back to the Harley shop for lunch they provided and live music by "The Lost Boyz".  Afterwards, we went to a friends open house.  It's his first home and he and his brother did a really nice job building it on their family's land.  Got to visit with friends we haven't seen in a while.  We really had a great day!

I love this mask I got him for riding!

Quick stops for breakfast...
...and gas

There's John on the right.  He is the one who put on the ride in memory of his late wife.

These guys had our second card.

We met Terry and Lynn. They were lost and followed us the whole way until we were on our way back to the Harley shop.  They knew where they were going then so they took the lead.

Katie is in Arizona!

On Monday, November 14th, Katie showed up at the house at 5:45am to follow her Dad over to Dallas to leave his motorcycle and ride with her to Arizona.  Her first time away so Dad wanted to go and give her some backup so she could figure out what all she was going to have to do from now on when she hits new towns.  Travel nursing is going to be pretty exciting for her!  This was also the weekend for the super moon.  I took a few pics of it, too.

Pretty dark when she got here.
Happy she showed up early...we got some more talk time in!

Headed out around 6:30 when it got daylight!

It was pretty cold so he had to wear all of his cold weather gear.

Took some more pics of the moon on the way to work.

Kenneth sent me this picture of the view from Katie's balcony in her new digs in Arizona.  She's really happy there!

Kenneth better get home quick...there were eight boats in the crappie fishing hole!

Bi-annual visits

We go every Memorial Day and every Veterans Day to put new flowers on the graves of Kenneth grandmother, grandfather and father.  Sunday was such a beautiful day that after church, we ate lunch, loaded up the flowers and got on the motorcycle to make our rounds.
Billy first...

Papaw...

Mamaw is last on the rounds...

In our big loop home, we rode past the church we got married in!!

Thanksgiving came early this year...

...on Saturday, November 12th to be exact!  Since Katie was leaving on the 14th, we did Thanksgiving so we could have everyone together to see her off and also so she could get her dinner!  Of course, once everyone showed up it was chaos and I didn't take any pictures!  I hate that I can't remember to do that.  Maybe at Christmas I'll remember to get some.  I'm so happy we got to spend time with Katie before she left and am always happy to have a houseful of people!

Katie's Christmas also came early!

She wanted this little vacuum cleaner to take traveling with her.

Needed Dad's knife to help with this one.  I had her stumped with this box - it was the accessories for the vacuum!

I know...she looks so thrilled!  She really was, though...:)

Hope we can all be together again really soon...
