December, 2022

I think everyone in the family took a turn at being sick in December and so many holiday events were canceled or postponed and on top of it all, Kenneth had his right knee replacement done in the middle of it all!! It was a crazy, fun, emotional month that was STILL filled with too many blessings to count!

My tree only had three presents under for this year - a little something for Madison's first Christmas and two for our family gift exchange. It has been so wonderful to celebrate Christmas for it's true meaning and not worry about buying everyone things they don't really need. It was Katie's idea last year to do this and I'm so thankful!! Takes so much stress out of the holiday and we all have really enjoyed it.

Added Mum's gift for Madison and the gift exchange to the tree and Kenneth got his rehab bike delivered the day before his surgery.

She's growing so fast...

...and she's SMILING now!!!

Mum has her Christmas lights up on her patio...

...and Kenneth got ours up before his surgery, too!

The kids had their Christmas pics done and they turned out great! Look at these two beautiful girls...🥰

Poor Kenneth...this knee was a lot tougher than the left one in July.

While Kenneth spent the night in the hospital, I spent the night with Katie and we went visiting!

Hi, Grandpa!! Hope you feel better soon!

Sophia and I were in the living room talking and I heard these two arguing in Madison's room. Katie must've won, because Daniel was just standing by. It's so much fun seeing them together as adults!

Got in a visit with Mum and Haley before we went and picked Kenneth up.

She's not quite sure about Santa Claus...

...nope.

Not a fan this year! She's fighting to get away.

They did the bandage different on this knee...like, no bandage. Just a clear strip over the incision.

Iced down and resting

Our friends Dawn and Denver dress as Santa and Mrs. Claus every year and live right around the corner from Daniel and Sophia. The neighborhood had a Christmas party and all the kids got pictures! Madison tolerated this Santa better!

First time for Nana Great to hold Madison!

It's tough shopping with a bum knee!

I've been in charge of the fireplace and boy, did we need a fire!! Nine degrees and with the wind, it felt like minus one degree...brrrr..

Such a happy girl!!

Madison enjoyed the fire pit in her back yard with Mom and Dad on New Year's Eve...

...and fireworks, too!!

Meanwhile...we've got movies and rehab for our celebration!

And champagne...🥂

Cheers to 2022! Katie moved back to Louisiana finally, we gained a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter...I'd say it was a wonderful year full of blessings!! Thank you Lord, for 2022 and we're looking forward to 2023!

November, 2022

Here I am...in 2023 trying to finish up 2022. Good thing I'm not a professional blogger - I would've been fired by now!! Here is November in pictures of course starting out with our beautiful baby...

Spent the night with Katie, took GMa to breakfast the next morning then on to visit Nana in the hospital

All we have to do is text her when we're passing the dentist and she's waiting on the curb to be picked up!! She's always ready to go as long as it's after 10am...😃

REALLY good breakfast at Another Broken Egg and a tasty spiked cold coffee.

Dropped her off with a full belly

Met Kenneth at the hospital and after our visit, she went home and so did I...always enjoy spending time with my little girl!

We've decided Sundays after church is a good time to come see this little one. Thank goodness her parents don't mind!

Finally got cold enough for fires!

Monthly Bunco was at my house; always a fun time!

Turkey Fry guys sponsored their first ever Gobble Wobble fundraiser for Gingerbread House. What a wonderful job TFG did and raised over $8,000 for GBH!! We had a great time and tasty food at the evening event. The next day, they fried 500 turkeys; some they had pre-sold and some they donated to needy families. What a great group they are!

Daniel went to help fry and deliver turkeys Saturday

Gobble Wobble photo op!

They had a drone flying over while they were frying the turkeys...isn't this awesome! They were so organized. Planning and pulling off an event this big had to have required so much with the fryers, oil, bags to deliver the turkeys, etc. Quite an impressive accomplishment and Turkey Fry Guys did an amazing job!

Daniel and Sophia hosted Thanksgiving this year! Amanda and her bunch were sick, Rita was still in the hospital and they offered so we accepted!

Katie was off work for the holiday weekend!!

They worked so hard and did such a good job!

Of course, while they worked they didn't have to worry about Madison.

When we left Daniel and Sophia's house, we took Rita her Thanksgiving dinner at the hospital.

First time visiting Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Finally getting some fall colors on the trees!

Unexpected Sunday morning plumbing issues...the devil is always looking for a way to keep people from going to church!

Just a pretty fall morning drive to work...

This guy fishing behind our house one day!

What a blessing she is...and a beautiful way to end November...
