New Year's Eve!!

We haven't gone out for New Year's Eve in many years, but choose to stay home watching movies, dozing in the recliner until 11:50, then jumping up to open the champagne to toast the new year and go to bed. #weold

This year, we invited Arvis and Pattie over and had way more fun!  Pattie and I both made snack foods and of course went overboard so we had plenty to eat. Add some drinks, darts, quarters, dice, party favors and YMCA to the mix and you've got yourself a New Year's Eve party!!  Of course, it was over before 9:00 (see hashtag above) when they went home, but Kenneth and I still toasted 2022 with champagne...then went right to bed!!  2021 is over and even though our country has gone from prosperity to chaos in just eleven months, I have so many wonderful memories of the year. Praying for our elected leadership, hoping for a brighter state of our country and looking forward to new adventures in 2022! No matter what the new year brings or who sits in the White House, I KNOW Who sits on the throne in heaven and Who will guide me in the new year.

Kenneth winding up with his first drink of the evening...I absolutely LOVE it when he dances through the house!

Pattie said she couldn't play darts, but she is really good!!

May God bless us all with health, happiness and prosperity in 2022!!

Christmas fun!

Every year, Christmas looks a little different around our house and this year was no exception. Mum, Katie, Daniel, Sophia, Kenneth and I gathered on December 24th for breakfast and instead of exchanging gifts with everyone, we each brought one wrapped gift and Katie was in charge of our first Christmas gift exchange since it was her idea. It was a lot of fun and makes so much sense for our family since we want to do something for each other, but none of us really needs anything. This will be our new tradition, I think! I did stockings this year for each of them and I suppose I may keep doing that. This year they only contained little trinkets from our travels, but they are fun to buy for and I think they enjoy getting them. After our game, the cooking began and the rest of the family joined us for a wonderful meal, desserts, visiting and Candlelight Communion for Christmas Eve. Christmas day was just Mum, Katie, Kenneth and I since Daniel and Sophia went to her family celebration so we had a quiet day but Santa did leave each of us a little something under the tree...🎄😀  Another wonderful Christmas celebrating Christ's birth and family, just the way it should be.

This is GMa getting the best Christmas present EVER, even though it made her cry...Katie is moving back to Bossier City!!! We are all just over the moon excited to finally have our Gypsy Nurse back in town!!!!

She's so jealous because she thinks that I like Daniel's childhood Christmas art more than hers and Daniel loves it!

But really, these two things go on my refrigerator every year since 1992 and I love them both!! And it warms my heart that my kids love each other, too even though back in the '90s I had to assure Katie that her brother loved her even if he didn't like her at the time!

Everyone got stockings!!

Checking the rules for the dice game on the phone

JUST what Mum needed!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Kenneth ended up with the massager! We all passed it around that day and have used it every day since! My back thanks y'all for it!

I got this snazzy cheese board, cleaned it up and used it that day!

We missed Kaylie Jayne, but she wasn't feeling well.

Such a beautiful service

Oh, what fun we had this year!!

Bunco Christmas!

We get together once a month and have the best time! It's always good to have some girl time, especially when good food, throwing dice and good friends are involved. And it never matters to any of us who wins or loses, it's all about the fellowship.  For Bunco this December 23rd, we played a dice game but instead of money, we played for gifts and even though we were missing a few, was it ever fun! Betty had a fun game planned, great food and some spike-it-yourself Christmas punch.  Looking forward to another year of fun with these girls...😀

You KNOW I put some of this in my cup o' Christmas cheer!!

Betty getting us lined out

We were throwing the pink fuzzy die and Betty was picking it up with her grabber stick and handing it to us. For some reason, this made us all laugh and laugh...maybe it was the punch...🤣
