2017 has started of pretty busy!

I can't believe this is the last day of January already...this year is flying by!  We've been pretty busy on the home front and I've been really busy at work so there just hasn't been a lot of time to put anything on this blog.  Here's what we've been doing this year...

Had Mum, Rita, Timothy and Daniel up for our traditional New Year's dinner.

Mum and me toasting New Year's Day with some mimosas.

LOVED the Yinzer Mob sign!  Steelers beat the Browns New Year's Day.

Timothy entertaining Daniel and Kenneth...

Wonderful way to bring in the new year...with family!
On the 6th, we moved Katie out of her apartment and into her storage unit.

I visited with Haley and Mum while the movers took some furniture to Haughton.

On the 7th we had some pretty cold weather and a hot breakfast to go with it!  Kenneth caught a cold somewhere along the way and he felt pretty crappy for several days, then I got it so we were pretty lazy for a few evenings until we got over it.

This helped out a LOT when we were sick and didn't feel like cooking.

Mum spent her gift card for a blower - she is so happy to get her porch clean!

Every spare minute he gets, Kenneth has worked on the El Camino. Motor and transmission rebuilt and back in and now to connect everything back up!

Went out for an enjoyable dinner with Dick and Doris.

Swearing in of a new president

Ready to make America great again...and it will be if we put God back into it!!

Went to the Boat and RV show at the fairgrounds and camper shopped.

Moved Rita into her new apartment.

Cheered on the Steelers in the AFC Championship game with Milton and Jill...unfortunately the Patriots won.

Daniel bought a truck so now Kenneth has something else to work on...and teach Daniel all the joys of old truck ownership!

Replacing the power steering hose to stop the leaking.

Mum and I went to try out the new Zaxby's.  It was good but decided we liked Cane's better.

The 28th was windy and sunny...and 40 degrees!  But the sheets dried and smelled wonderful!

Bought a toyhauler camper at above mentioned RV show!!  Doing the walk-thru with Courtney.

SO excited to get this loaded with our stuff and start traveling!!!

Planning to post about some trips this year in this awesome little camper!!

Annnnddd....he's still working on the El Camino....

What a wonderful year we're looking forward to!!!

New Year's Eve...Farewell 2016

What an awesome year 2016 was for us!!  When I started this blog I had no idea where the year would take us, only that Kenneth was retiring and we hoped to travel.  We have been so blessed to be able to start fulfilling this dream we've always had!!

I spent the day doing laundry, cleaning and piddling around the house.  Kenneth went and built a ramp then down to his Mom's house to help Timothy pack up some things.  He got home around 3:30 just as I was sitting down to watch a movie and drink a beer and said, "I hope you don't mind but I invited Mom, Timothy, Tommy, Shane, Greg, Joe and Carol over for a fish fry tonight.".  Of course I didn't mind!  Tommy, Shane and Greg had other plans but we did have some come over.  The fish was fresh and wonderful, as always - Kenneth does such a good job!

After everyone left, we spent a quiet evening watching movies, dozing in our chairs and watching the New York City party and ball dropping events.  A little before midnight, we got the champagne out and were ready for our toast!

CHEERS to another wonderful year spent with this guy and looking forward to 2017...wherever it takes us!!

Christmas week...work and play and other miscellany

The week between Christmas and New Year's Eve was full of activity so I decided to lump it all in together!

Went over to Mum's one night and she cooked ham barbeque for dinner.  Haven't had that in a while and it was really good!

Haley tried to ply me with kisses but finally gave up when I wouldn't share dinner with her.

I don't know of any gift any of us has ever gotten that everyone has had more fun with than this drone.  The guys are having a ball flying it, I love to watch them and it, and it even had all of the neighbors out watching!  It's a pretty cool little thing.

After playing a bit, it's time to get to work.  Kenneth ordered a Vintage Air air conditioning unit and has been working on installing it.  I'm so glad Daniel comes up and helps - they both seem to really enjoy working on the car.  And it makes me happy to see them enjoying their time spent together.

OK...enough work for now.  Time to go fishing. Over across the canal is a fishing hole that all the guys like to gather at to fish and talk...

The next day, Kenneth was on his own working.

A man actually looking at the instructions!!

That flat black piece of metal is where he removed the factory A/C unit and welded a piece of metal over the hole.

He got his Christmas present hung up in the garage!

This is where all the boxes and bags of labeled parts are stored.

Here's my Christmas present!!  The Maltese cross necklace we went and ordered at McCary's before Christmas.  I absolutely love it and am so happy to be able to wear it with all the memories the stone brings.  My Grandmother and Mother wore this stone and now I'm blessed to have it, too.

I got to work one day and there were dozens of spider webs on the fence around the side lot.  Every one of them had dew outlining every strand of the web - it was so cool!!

Another dinner at Mum's - chicken over rice, potato salad and English muffins.  She's definitely spoiling me!!!
