September, 2023

Even though we lost Rita this month, we still managed to find joy. It's so strange how life goes on even when someone so loved is absent from it. Madison turned ONE this month and Rita was so looking forward to going to the party to celebrate. We're so thankful she had almost a whole year with her great-granddaughter and got to enjoy her. So along with mourning Rita, we celebrated Madison, the Radiant Women's Conference and Curt's 65th with a fishing trip to Lake Texoma.

Daddy brushing her hair

All pretty now!

RADIANT!!

Thoroughly enjoyed the conference again this year!

They joined us for Grandparents Day at Church

Just LOVE our Sunday visits with this little one!! AND her family...:)

We got her a swing for the back porch and she loves it!

Birthday boy

Grilling for all of us on his birthday

Animals are attracted to Curt!

There was a burn ban in Oklahoma so no smores over the fire pit, but the grill worked!

Headed out of the marina for a day of fishing

It wasn't the biggest fish of the day, but Curt did catch the first one!

We caught and the guide cleaned 39 fish between the four of us! So many more smaller ones were caught that we had to throw back, though.

And they didn't even have to clean them - the guide did it!

Don't even remember his name now, but he was certainly better than this trophy allows.

After eating at the marina and showers, the drinks flowed and the dominos were slamming on the table!

Cleaning out Rita's apartment was quite a challenging task. She had SO much stuff and unfortunately most of it was only important to her. Most of it went into the trash, but we all had fun with some of the crazy stuff we found! Rita would have had so much fun with all twelve of us there, laughing, crying, remembering...she would NOT like that we threw all of her stuff away tho!

We found so many pictures of people that we didn't know, but I know this guy! This is what Kenneth looked like when I met him!

We went from a funeral one day...

...to a birthday celebration the next.

Kenneth's cousin Judy and her husband, Terry

Was not a fan of the cake.
