Labor Day visit from friends

Maggie and Kate came over from Dallas Sunday to visit with Mum. They went to her apartment, picked her up and Kenneth and I met them at Superior Grill for lunch and to visit. After lunch, we went to the casino and I left a little richer!! Monday, Maggie and Kate picked Mum up again and they went to lunch but we stayed home and Kenneth grilled. Mac came up and ate with us and the guys visited and I cleaned out a few more cabinets and took a nap! Exactly what Labor Day weekend is for - food, family, friends and rest!

I have banned myself from Superior margaritas for reasons I will not mention here and instead have switched to a really good Mexican beer - Victoria - which I will be drinking at Superior from now on! Thanks for the tip, Pepito!

Mum had a wonderful time!! She loves her a Superior margarita...:)

I put $20 in the machine. On my third spin, I won 96 free spins and cashed out when they were done. YAY for me!!!

When Katie is home, so are the cats! Bitty joined me for breakfast one morning...:)

Mum's basil crop was excellent this year! She shared lots of it with us.

Mum got a treadmill! And she actually uses it while she watches her judge shows!

Lilah's day with Auntie!

Lilah was the third great-niece to redeem her "Day with Aunt Elaine" coupon from Christmas and what a fun day we had! I picked her up at her house at 9:30am on Saturday, August 11th and we headed to Tinseltown to see "The Incredibles 2". We ate too much popcorn and licorice so we decided to do some shopping before we went to lunch. Lilah wanted a dress and tried on several before deciding on one and it was the one I loved! She also picked out a pretty ring that matched well and off we went to Posado's for a really good lunch. Too bad we were both still full of popcorn and had to take most of it home to the other girls to eat! Lilah is a beautiful, sweet soul who loves dresses, is full of energy and wasn't too excited to be starting school but I think I convinced her it wasn't going to be too hard because she was really smart!! Looking forward to our next day together...:)

Love me some Posado's!! We were still full of popcorn, then we ate chips and salsa and tortillas so most of dinner went in the to-go boxes. So enjoyed this sweet child...:)

Happy birthday to me!!

Where has the time gone? Just yesterday I was getting married and starting a family...now I'm 55!! Lord willing, I'll be saying the same thing 30 years from now. ;) I had a wonderful celebration. Mum wanted to have a party at her apartment so she made ham barbeque, had chips and dip and got me a cake. And EVERYONE was there - even Katie!!! Love my family and cherish every opportunity I have to get together with them. Now to see what this year in my life brings...:)
