June, 2022

It is officially summer in the South!! Hot, humid days are beginning and it's not just here...it seems to be worldwide. We pretty much laid low this month. It's so hot and Kenneth really can't walk very much so we picked Charles' garden one day while they were out of town, visits with Mum, celebrated Father's Day and Daniel's birthday and just stayed in the A/C!!

Charles puts so much hard work into this every year and we appreciate him SO much!

Kenneth picked the squash

While I dug up some potatoes and pulled some beets and onions.

I'm thankful I'm his secretary and not his farm hand. This was some hot, hard work!!

Haley and her favorite toy...Tuesday visits with Mum and her sidekick are always an adventure.

June 12 and already in the 100s with a heat index of 117!!

Daniel has taken over a lot of celebratory meals and he has the perfect place to do it! He laid the patio blocks himself just the week before to put the outdoor furniture wedding gift on. He plans to put a permanent roof on, but this temporary one worked great!

Everything that comes off his grill is always PERFECT!!! He does such a great job.

Sophia wasn't home from church yet, but she had some appetizers for Daniel to set up and were they ever YUM!! They both work so hard and make everything so nice for their family...😍

Olive loves to have a lap to sit in and GMa loves providing it.

Kenneth certainly doesn't mind Daniel taking over the cooking for him and he enjoyed every bite of his steak.

The sunsets on Caddo Lake have been exceptional. We are truly blessed to be able to live here!

They took the bridge deck down months ago and they set charges on the concrete pilings to get rid of them.

When they set the charges off, we heard it at the house!!

Katie and I hit up the Shreveport Farmer's Market. I got a two ten pound bags of shelled peas - one purple hull and one lady cream. Love me a pot of fresh peas!

We found a new restaurant right by Mum's apartment - Silver Star Express North. It was a little pricey, but I did get three meals out of this so it actually worked out pretty well.

Took this June 30th...tomorrow is surgery day for Kenneth's left knee replacement. Got his therapy bike delivered and set up and the walker is ready to roll!!
