June and July, 2023

I'm combining June and July because 1) it was too hot to go do anything and 2) both months were basically "Madison months"!! We have had record-breaking heat this summer - highs between 100 and 110 with heat indexes of 110-122...it has been miserable. I just can't imagine having to work outside! I'm so thankful Kenneth is retired and doesn't have to be in this heat unless he chooses to be. Pretty much all we did these two months were inside things - we kept Madison for a week while her Mama worked (best week EVER!), went to church, met with our Waymakers group, enjoyed summers bounty from Charles' garden, celebrated Father's Day and Kenneth's birthday and after touring many assisted living facilities, found Mum's new apartment!!

What a happy baby she is!!

Visiting Great-Grandma

Not happy to be loaded up in a hot carseat...look at that big ol' crocodile tear

She now leaves a trail of destruction through the house - toys, dishtowels all pulled down, if she can reach it, it goes to the floor!!

She also helps with my chores!

Busy baby...she loves the lights, sounds and music.

Waymakers dinner and Bible trivia night

Pastor Gene lead a really fun trivia game that involved Bible knowledge and candy!

Finally settled on an assisted living place for Mum and they served us a really good lunch!

After all the heat and power outages, we ordered a bigger generator that will run the whole house, including the air conditioner! Here's Kenneth getting it loaded into his truck.

Our church worship team does such a great job with music every Sunday!

Cleaning out boxes from the attic and look what I found! I'm positive my 12 year old self read every one of these articles when it arrived at our house.

This was actually one of the cooler days this summer! 90 and it felt like 110...whew...

I'm not a fan of him getting on ladders or roofs anymore, but light bulbs need changed.

Daddy's girl...😍

She was teething and not real chipper this day, but I love this pic...

You can do it, Grandpa...

Patiently waiting while Grandpa blows her some bubbles

Love summertime and all the fresh produce we get!!

She loves her swimming pool!!

June Waymakers at Rick and Angela's house

This yummy restaurant is by Mum's new assisted living place

Father's Day at church

Kenneth got Opie and he was NOT happy!!

Madison with Nana-Great

You can buy a baby all the toys in the world, but give her an empty water jug or an empty box and she'll be just as happy!

Daniel grilling for his birthday/Father's Day celebration. He fed us all good!!

After picking up the limb.

Kenneth clearing off the road after a summer storm

The rain that came through actually cooled things off for a couple of days and we got to enjoy the back porch!

Getting the old generator out of the way to put the new one in.

Arvis was gone so it was Kenneth to Pattie's rescue when she needed help with the tractor!

Sassy girl out to eat at Flying Heart!

Playing with her Daddy's 1987 dinosaur!

She loves to chase us up and down the hallway!

Checking out the front door...

Kenneth modeling his new El Camino shirt

Madison came to work with Grandma to do payroll and met the boss! She's been kind of stranger scared, but she loved Charles.

Kenneth and I have been doing puzzles since we're staying inside to beat the heat.

She loves a fan blowing on her!

Checking the back yard.

Taking a morning walk before it gets too hot!

Busy baby...

LOVES this slinky!!

Waiting for lunch

We never did fill up her pool with water but instead just played in the house which she was happy with.

Her daddy used to crawl through this coffee table all the time. She tried, but kept bumping her helmet!

Daniel and Kenneth getting a little fishing time.

Katie trying to find her a new pair of sunglasses!

Mum's has been growing herbs this summer and she's doing great with the parsley and basil!

Wine and a movie on the back porch

Geez...I'm going to have to quit doing that face! But I guess I'm just goofy happy most of the time and especially when I'm around this baby...love to make her laugh!!
