Jenny and Mike came to visit!!

What a wonderful time we had with Jenny and Mike when they visited in April!!  As seems to be my standard for this years blog, I'm late posting and all of my pictures are out of order, but at least I'm getting it documented for my book at the end of the year!  Jenny and Mike got in Thursday afternoon, April 13th and Katie was home for their entire visit!  I made crawfish etouffee for dinner and we hung out, ate, drank and visited.  Friday morning, I went to work and Mum came up to spend the weekend.  I got home around noon and the girls hung out, visiting on the back porch waiting for Kenneth and Mike to get back from fishing.  We all headed to Superior Bar and Grill for an early dinner where we met Rita and Daniel and afterwards, off to the casino to lose a little bit of money. Saturday the guys went fishing again while the girls went to Jefferson, TX for a little browsing through shops, lunch at Auntie Skinner's and a car show.  The guys caught enough fish to fry up a nice batch for everyone for Saturday dinner!  Then it was on to getting food ready for our Easter dinner Sunday.  We all went to church Sunday then Rita and Amanda and her gang all came up for Easter dinner, an egg hunt for the girls and lots of visiting! What a wonderful day it was and the best thing about it....HE IS RISEN!! Monday I went to work for a couple of hours, came home for lunch and Mum left.  The rest of us loaded up and went to Crawdaddy's Kitchen for some crawfish and were they ever good!!  Tuesday morning, April 18th, Jenny, Mike, Kenneth and I loaded up and headed for NOLA!!!  We met up with their friends Kim and Al and had a wild four days in the Big Easy!  We saw heard so many different bands that played all different music - jazz, blues, washboard zydeco, classic rock - you name it, we heard it.  Walking the streets, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells, visiting, laughing, eating, drinking - what a wonderful week we had!  We watched the river traffic, went to Café DuMonde for beignets, Pat O'Brien's for shrimp and grits and hurricanes, The Funky Pirate for blues and hand grenades, rode the Creole Queen for a dinner jazz cruise, finally made it to the World War II Museum, gambled and had a great time.  Jenny and Mike went on to Biloxi from there and we headed home Friday.  We'll get to see them again in June and I'm looking forward to seeing them and their new home!
