A day with Katie!

Katie has been working SO much the last few months and we haven't really had much time to hang out. Finally she had a Saturday off and I wasn't out of town so we spent the whole day together! Daniel and his family were coming home from the hospital but weren't going to be there until after lunch so we went and let Olive out first thing then headed to downtown Shreveport for a visit to the Aquarium then walked over to the Red River Revel for lunch, browsing the artisan booths and some live music featuring Everett Street Jazz. The weather was absolutely gorgeous for all things outside and I thoroughly enjoyed the day with my girl.

Olive was happy to get her treat!

The Shreveport Aquarium is small compared to big city aquariums, but it is done very well and they pack a lot into a small space.

They've paired it with the old Barnwell Center and I was so happy to see how they've re-purposed such an iconic Shreveport landmark. I had been the old Barnwell Center and it was beautiful in it's prime, but it had been abandoned years ago. It's wonderful to be in it again!

The Riverfront Park is really nice, too!

Listening to some light jazz/blues while eating lunch.

We got there right when they opened so there weren't a lot of people there yet. By the time we left, the lines for the food were SO long and there weren't many places to sit! Happy we beat the crowd.

The Barnwell Center is a huge greenhouse and used to filled with all kinds of plants. Still plants but now has all kinds of learning activities for kids. They've really done a good job with this attraction.
