Cruisin' the Coast

Well, Kenneth has marked another item off of his Bucket List...we finally made it to Cruisin' the Coast in Biloxi, Mississippi! What beautiful weather we had to head south for five days of cruising, cars, food, friends and fun! We had made reservations at the same hotel Jeanne and Eric were staying in so we saw them there, made some plans with them and did some things on our own. What a wonderful, relaxing time we had! We made the full 26 mile drive on the Hwy. 90 coastal road one day and drove up and down the main stretch a couple of times but for two days, we sat in the shade and watched the cars. We found the perfect spot that was away from all the crowds. We were able to park the car and sit right by it in the shade of two large crepe myrtle trees with our ice chest full of sandwiches, water and beer between us and enjoy the wonderful breeze coming off the Gulf and all of the awesome cars driving up and down Hwy. 90. The Visitors Center was right across the side street with restrooms so we had everything we needed to sit for six hours and enjoy. So happy we got to finally make this trip!

Hello, Mississippi!

View from our hotel window the first night

Following Jeanne and Eric to the restaurant the first night...love their license plate!

The first of SO many El Caminos!! The only place I've ever seen more El Caminos was at the 60th anniversary in Dallas.

Backed into a parking spot at Woody's waiting for a table on the patio. We were right on Hwy. 90 and passed the time watching cars cruise by!

Guys got the tailgate; Jeanne and I sat on the tool box!

Wonderful way to start our Cruisin' trip!

People had camps set up on lots all along Hwy. 90. RVs boondocking, tents and cars everywhere! When they weren't cruising the highway, they had their chairs set up watching.

This was a huge venue they had set up with live music, food booths and CTC merch to buy. We looked at cars and bought a tshirt here.

Eric grew up here and he and Jeanne lived here when they first got married. They knew all of the cool local hangouts with the best food and no tourists!

Huck's was a cool little place that was off the beaten path, too!

Second night we set up on the beach and watched cars.

Classic cars if I turned my head to the right and this view when I looked left...what an awesome evening!!

Just like the Power Tour...Kenneth headed down every morning to wipe the car down and get her all shiny for the day!

Jeanne took our pic in her rear view mirror...😀

Here he is, Cruisin the Coast!!!

Under our shade trees, having lunch!

Intersection of a side street and Hwy. 90 in front of us. We saw cars coming from three directions. It was the BEST spot ever!

Met up with Jeanne and Eric and some of their friends for dinner one night at The Shed.

Wouldn't recommend the mac and cheese but the BBQ was SO good!!

The hotel had a really nice outdoor seating area with a fire pit. We went outside in the evenings for cocktails, visiting and the views! On Saturday night, we sat at the inside gathering spot to watch college football.

We only saw this El Camino once from our spot, but it looked just like ours with a black stripe instead of white. We've never seen another one like ours and wished we could've talked to them but there was no way to chase them down! I told Kenneth they looked right at our car so it was up to them to come back, but they never did.

Elevator trip to the 5th floor the last night we were there after our fire pit hanging out. We have an elevator pic from the Hot Rod Power Tour with them and Rich and Michele, so I said we had to do one from this trip, too! What a fun weekend we had!

Hope to get together with these folks soon and hang out!!
