Jefferson Burn Rally

Last Friday, October 7th, when I got off work we loaded up and headed for Jefferson to register for the Burn Rally.  It's held annually to  benefit children's burn camps.  We got all of us registered for the Poker Run, got our armbands, maps and other paperwork so we're ready to go!  We had such a wonderful weekend - beautiful weather, great rides, good food and good friends!

Beautiful afternoon for riding!

I can't tell you how many times we've passed this and I've never taken a picture...until now!

Main St., Jefferson, Friday night

Little church heading out of Jefferson

Beautiful sunset on the way to Mt. Pleasant

We left Jefferson and headed to Mt. Pleasant to meet up with Curt and Lisa.  Hung out and visited Friday night so we could all leave out together for the rally in the morning.

Headed out Saturday morning!
Loading up Saturday morning!
Gassing up!

We tried to hit stop #4 of the Poker Run first, but they weren't set up yet. We went to Jefferson and started at the beginning!

Over Lake 'O The Pines...we were just here last week!

One of the Poker Run stops

What?!  The church had coffee and home made cookies!!

Back over the lake we went...

Made it back to stop #4 just in time for lunch!!

Curt and Lisa headed into the last stop to get their map stamped.

Back to Jefferson to turn in our maps with all five stamps so we could draw our poker hand.  None of us drew a good hand but we had a beautiful day and a wonderful ride!

Main St., Jefferson Saturday afternoon

Live music playing, vendors everywhere, a motorcycle contest...it was a really nice rally.

Auntie Skinner's for a cold beverage

We got up Sunday morning and headed out for a ride west and ended up at Lake Fork, Texas

Sharing the road with a bicycle race - there were a bunch of them!

Our view for lunch - beautiful!!

This group of eight fishermen were sitting behind us and, of course, Kenneth chatted them up to see how they were doing!

Not sure if he's wishing he was going with them...

...or if he is happy doing this today!!

Maybe they WOULD rather be fishing!!

Headed back home - east Texas is such a pretty ride!

We went through Pittsburg!  Never been here before.

Train stop

They even have Pittsburg Pirates!!
