Hitting the road and driving all night...

And we're off like a herd of turtles!!  Curt had to go in to work for a few hours Friday morning so we didn't get on the road until 1:30.  Which worked out great because we met Lisa's family in Oklahoma City for dinner.  We started in Texas and ended up in Nebraska on Saturday morning.
Of course it's the "before we hit the road" selfie!!

Curt knows where we're going this first leg of the trip.

Kenneth already diagnosing problems...

In his element.

Trying to get a picture of Lisa and her family but SOMEONE is not cooperating!

Finally got him out of the picture!

Lisa, Curt, Stephanie, Drake, Robbie and Jim

Aaaannndddd....he's still having fun!!!

Sunset over Oklahoma

So beautiful...

Finally made it to Kansas...

And while going through Salina, Kansas these three lights came right towards us!!  Kenneth was driving and I was riding in the passenger seat.  There was an airport near here and we figure they were helicopters, but it was pretty weird...it was also 11:35pm...;)

Finally in Nebraska, although I didn't get a very good picture of the sign.

Kenneth took over the driving when we left dinner in Oklahoma City, Curt took over about 4:00am and Lisa drove from about 5:00 to 6:00.  I sat in front with her while she drove and the next several pictures are the progression of the sunrise over the Nebraska landscape.  It was so pretty and I probably took 70 pictures but really...how do you capture the amazing beauty that God paints on the sky in front of you?  I really tried, though, because I did want to remember it...

Good morning, Saturday!!
